Help young people meet Jesus through Alpha

Why your help matters

Megan is a nineteen-year-old who came to Alpha at St. Mary's Church Southampton in January 2024, with no Christian background she tried Alpha and became a Christian. During the course, her sister saw the change that was happening in Megan, so Megan invited her to come to Alpha in the spring term, her sister came and gave her life to Jesus. No long after that their mum also noticed the huge change in both of them so they invited her to come to Alpha and her mum also became a Christian.

Around the summer, Megan heard about the new Alpha Youth Series and was moved to run it at the schools she works in as a teacher assistant. Her school is in one of the most deprived areas of Southampton and it's very secular. So, the chances of being allowed to run Alpha Youth were very low. She prayed for a while and when she approached the head teacher with the idea, she got an unexpected "yes".

She then invited five of her colleagues to join Alpha at St. Mary's in the autumn and four of them gave their lives to Jesus and then joining Megan and supporting her to run Alpha Youth in January. They had forty people signed up to Alpha Youth, twenty-five coming regularly and they've been given permission to run the Alpha youth day outside of the school programme!

Why give to Alpha Youth?

Young people worldwide are searching for hope and meaning. When you choose to donate to Alpha, you’re not just giving—you’re opening doors for young individuals to meet Jesus in a personal, meaningful, and life-changing way. In 2024, over 2 000 000 people connected with Alpha, with many experiencing a personal relationship with Jesus for the very first time.

By 2033, we hope to offer this life-changing opportunity to everyone on the planet as we look towards the 2000th anniversary of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
