1. Firstly, the only person capable of dealing with all the World’s problems is Jesus Christ. The greatest gift we can give anyone is an introduction to him and the opportunity to develop a relationship with him. Jesus is love but he is also HOPE. A decision for Christ makes an eternity of difference.

2. Secondly, when people commit their life to Jesus; everything changes, they are a new person. Each of them finds their own way to contribute, to bring healing and positive change. So, the more people we point to Jesus the more hands helping - working for positive change.

3. Thirdly, Alpha works. The Alpha model makes it so easy to invite friends and for people from other traditions to check out the claims of the Christian faith.

4. Fourthly, we love the friendships we have made, the people we have met through our involvement with Alpha. Literally from Arch-Bishops to Mafia enforcers. Billionaires to some of the very poorest communities in Cape Town. Once you get involved with the Alpha family, you might change position, but you are always welcomed as a family member.

5. Fifthly, we support Alpha because of the unity it brings. A renowned church planter came with us to the Alpha Leadership Conference in the Royal Albert Hall in London one year. Every major denomination, 150+ countries, all working together to honour Jesus and build his Kingdom. When I asked him for his observations, he turned to me and said: ‘now I have seen unity.’ Every major denomination runs Alpha. We focus on what unites us.

6. Sixthly, we trust the Alpha team. Integrity and good Governance are in-bedded in the culture of Alpha.

7. Alpha is predominantly a volunteer organisation – we once calculated that for every paid member of staff - Alpha has hundreds of volunteers. Alpha multiplies and compounds.
